The EUROPE-AFRICA-MIDDLE EAST Annual Congress is always an impressive affair. This weekend, two of our World Cup Stars featured in the headlines – and certainly made an impression. With 106 Delegates from 35 Countries present at the Congress, Zagreb in Croatia did an outstanding job in hosting this event for the first time – thanks to the expertise of the Croatian Water Ski Federation.
Representing the Athletes was World Cup Star, World Cup Jump Champion and World Jump Champion, Ageliki Andriopoulou GRE. She made a significant contribution on a number of key topics including Excess Baggage Charges for Athletes Equipment, the World Games, etc. She will be back on the water soon to prepare to defend her World Cup Jump title this season – and also her World Jump Champion title in August in Calgary, Canada,
Slalom and Trick Star and World Cup Champion, Clementine Lucine FRA, was voted EAME Athlete Of The Year this weekend based on her outstanding and consistent performances on the water in 2008. Having also set a new World Tricks Record of 8840 points, there was very little left for her to achieve in this past season. With the World Championships ahead in Calgary in August plus a full World Cup season on the international circuit, look out for some more major headlines for Clementine in 2009. Well done to our two World Cup Stars.
