This may be an entirely new FIRST for MasterCraft ! See what you think ….. During our 28th Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Stop in the City of Liuzhou in South West China a week ago, we received a special request. Two brides wanted a wedding to

remember and it was all to take place just before our World Cup Finals. With 28 TV Stations beaming our World Cup event LIVE to 800 million viewers, this was no ordinary day on the water for them – or for our entire World Cup team. What the two brides asked was for their marriage to take place at the World Cup Starting Dock and then for both to take their grooms out on the Liu River for some important parts of the Wedding ceremony – in two XStar MasterCrafts ! Of course, we obliged ! Our IWWF President,
Kuno Ritschard, greeted both couples in a cloud of confetti on arrival – and then they each climbed on board a personal XStar moored at our World Cup starting dock and dressed in pink just for the wedding occasion ! With photographers all over the place, including in both XStars, they set off to complete the ceremony. First they had to each release containers

of fish into the River Liu. When you think that this City is one of China’s largest motor manufacturing cities and the river is perfectly clean, we get some insight to their care for the environment. Also, of the thousands of motor scooters seen in the streets, 80% are electric ! Finally, the wedding couples had to throw a bottle with a special wedding-wish note into the river for good luck. Two weddings in two XStars at a World Cup Stop – it has to be a first for MasterCraft, official boat sponsors of the past 29 World Cup Stops as it was certainly a first for a World Cup Stop ! Following the ceremony on the water, the XStars returned to the dock where MasterCraft Driver
Martin James and our Liuxhou World Cup team removed the pink decorations, the confetti and the champagne bottles, and made the preparations for the World Cup Finals which saw
Freddy Krueger USA and
Natalia Berdnikova BLR take the Jump titles – and
Phillip Soven USA and
Raimi Merritt USA take the Wakeboard titles. This may be the start of a whole new World Cup trend – and we will keep you posted on all the events over the coming seasons right here on our World Cup site. Our next and final 2009 World Cup Stop with be in the beautiful World Cup site of Putrajaya, Malaysia. Right now the temperature is about 32C / 94Fh on the Putrajaya Lake and we are definitely not expecting snow there on November 6/8.
