NATI LINES UP A BUNCH OF PENDING WORLD RECORDS !
We all know that Belarus has produced some extraordinary Waterski talents over the past ten years. Aliaksei Zharnasek, Herman Beliakou and Oleg Deviatovski actually took ALL the Tricks medals at the 2009 World Championships and are regular medals winners at our World Cup Stops. Iryna Turets has not only starred in our World Cup Series but is also one of the most outstanding Cable Waterski athletes. However, World Cup Star Natallia Berdnikava has now gone even further into the Stratosphere !
Based at Jack Travers in Okahumpka in Central Florida, Nati already has quite an extraordinary track record in our sport. Included in this are such titles as IWWF Athlete of the Year, World Jump Record, World Tricks Record, World Champion in Jump, Tricks and Overall, Moomba and US Masters Gold Medals – and of course many of our World Cup Champion medals. Surprisingly, she is still just 26 years of age !
‘And now for our World Cup Star’s very latest extraordinary achievements …..
Ten days ago at the Ski Fluid Classic in Orlando, Florida, Natalia jumped 58.5m, tricked 9420 points, and slalomed 1 Buoy at 11.25m which would be an Overall World Record score of 3057.64. This is now pending approval.
Last weekend at the Last Chance Qualifier for the US Masters, Natalia scored 3 Buoys at 11.25, 9740 points and 57.9 meters in Round 1 for a pending Overall World Record of 3123.54 – and this exceeds her current pending World Overall Record set the previous week.
To add to the drama, Whitney McClintock CAN skied 0.5 Buoys at 10.25, 9180 points and 49.7 meters in Round 2 of the same event for a pending World Overall Record of 3034.42. This exceeds the current official World Record by Regina Jaquess USA. If either of Natalia’s pending records is approved, then Whitney’s cannot be considered.
Whatever happens, CONGRATULATIONS to Natalia Berdnikava from all her many World Cup fans – and we will bring you the very latest update here as soon as the “Pendings” have been considered.
