WORLD CUP STARS DOMINATE 2010 MASTERS AT CALLAWAY GARDENS TODAY

WORLD CUP STARS TAKE TOP MEDALS AT ROBIN LAKE

It was yet another thrilling day for our sport at the 2010 Masters at Callaway Gardens, Georgia, USA on this Memorial Day weekend. In temperatures which at times reached 100Fh / 35C and a perfect head wind for the Jump Finals, our World Cup Stars really did dominate the weekend.

Masters Regina

Masters Will2

In Slalom, the enormous talents of Regina Jaquess USA and Will Asher GBR  earned both scores on the 10.75m line / 39 off, with Regina scoring 0.5 buoys and Will 5 buoys. In swirly water conditions, both were also 1.5 buoys ahead of their nearest competitors. Congratulations to our great World Cup Stars who we will see later this season when our 2010 Series kicks off.

Masters Whitney

Masters Herman Beliakou BLR

In Tricks / Shortboard, it was Whitney McClintock CAN with 8340 points and Herman Beliakou BLR 6810 who took the honours. If that score of Herman’s seems low, under a new Masters format, this was the best SINGLE pass score ! At this rate, we may see Herman set a new World Record (12,400+) some day soon at a World Cup Stop !

Masters Freddy June

In Jump, conditions were almost perfect and the competition between the athletes was as fierce as ever. Our World Cup Stars dominated here also. Yet again, it was June Fladborg DEN and Freddy Krueger USA who out-distanced the field today. June scored 53.1m / 174ft, and Freddy 70.2m / 230 ft. This battle is bound to continue when we take to the road for our 30th World Cup Stop later this Summer.

Congratulations to Whitney, Herman, Regina, Will, June and Freddy – and we look forward to seeing you soon at a World Cup Stop in our continuing global tour.
