It has been an extraordinary season for Denmark’s talented June Fladborg. A dream came true for our World Cup Star last week when her new World Jump Record of 57.1m was approved by the World Tournament Council. Now it was time to celebrate, enjoy a few last competitions of 2010 and plan for 2011.

June’s long term Coach Ray Stokes has just contacted us with some bad news. June was competing yesterday at the Rocketman Tournament in Florida USA. Her cut to the Ramp was World Record stuff all over again and her timing was also perfect. Then, about 10m into the flight time, June’s heel came partly out of her binding. The crash which followed was not a pretty sight.

Ray has confirmed that June has broken her heel bone. Right now she is heading for surgery and we await news from the Medics shortly. We know that all her World Cup fans and friends wish her a speedy recovery. While we recognise that injuries are a part of many exciting sports, there is never a right moment for this to happen. Our new World Record holder has a challenging time ahead and we all wish her well.
