JONATHAN TRAVERS MONDAY INTERVIEW The name Travers is a special one in our sport – and his entry to the World Cup series has certainly impressed many. His parents, Jack and Lelani, have made an enormous contribution as coaches and mentors and hosts to hundreds of skiers over the years. They have also produced some outstanding champions. Their two talented sons, Chris and Jonathan, grew up in a very special atmosphere at Sunset Lakes in Okahumpka, Florida, and both are already impressive athletes. At the top of the pile right now is 21 year-old Jonathan – and as we can see, all that training and dedication is really paying off.
Jonathan Travers - World Cup Slalom Skier
Jonathan hit the headlines back in 2004 at the age of just 15 when he became the co-holder of the Boys 3 National Slalom Record in the USA. He was also Boys 3 National Slalom Champion in 2004 and 2005. By the time 2007 arrived, he was both Men 1 National Slalom and Overall Champion. Then, in 2009, he stepped up yet again by taking the title of World U21 Slalom Champion. He has now started to make his mark in our World Cup series against the very best Skiers in the World.
