QUICK RECOVERY PLUS A UNIQUE LLEWELLYN FAMILY CHALLENGE ! World Cup star
Jaret Llewellyn did not set ELEVEN World Records without an extraordinary level of commitment. His awesome crash in the run-off at our spectacular
World Cup Stop in Dubna Russia last week showed how tough this sport of ours really is – and especially at the top. Only the very best last the pace and especially at World level. The good news is that Jaret’s swollen ankle has recovered fully and a painful shoulder is responding very well to treatment by the Canadian Olympic Centre Medical staff.
Jaret Recovers From World Cup Crash
Jaret was very moved when he received a phone call from Russia a few days ago from the
Mayor of Dubna, Valery Prokh, who was concerned about his recovery. The Mayor is also a very special person as we have learned over our SIX World Cup stops in that City. It was a very thoughtful gesture.
Britta, Dorien and Jaret heading for the Worlds
As we all now prepare for the Waterski World Championships in Calgary Canada, Jaret and Britta have just informed us that both they and their young son Dorien plan to compete on this major stage for our sport !
To have both parents and a son in the World Championships at the same time is a very special first for our sport. While Jaret will be flying the Canadian flag, Britta and Dorien will be carrying the Austrian flag. Last weekend, young Dorien scored 3 buoys on the 11.25m line in Slalom to tie his own Austrian National Record. He also jumped a Personal Best of 34.2m and will be in Vallensbaek Denmark for the Europe Africa Middle East Waterski Championships immediately after Calgary. Who says that genetics are not important ! Dorien certainly has a double dose of extraordinary talent in his composition and we wish all the family every success in the great challenges ahead on the water.
