Freddy Krueger USA has had an outstanding World Cup Jump career. He captured the World Cup Jump season title in style in 2008, 2007 and 2006 – in all kinds of water conditions, climates and time zones. He also got the huge World Cup crowds roaring approval and totally enjoying the sensation every time !

However, this is just one outstanding chapter of his extraordinary career to date. Born in Decatur, Illinois, where a wind chill factor of minus 20Fh is not unknown in the winter, his life changed when he moved to Florida. Lake Huckleberry in Winter Garden is now where he and his wife Karen Truelove hone their waterski skills. Even by his high standards, 2008 was a special year. Not only has he accumulated six approved IWSF World Jump Records since 1999, he added yet another US Masters title to his collection last summer and in November last, just before his great victory at the World Cup Stop in Putrajaya, Malaysia, yet again he set a new pending World Jump Record of 75.3m/247ft. That just happens to be over 6.5m longer than his 1999 Record !

All know that Freddy and Karen are true professionals. Their daily training routines are what make them both excel. Apart from time on the water behind their MasterCraft boats, he spends over one hour each day and many evenings in his workshop making adjustments and fine tuning their equipment. When in the boat, Karen will watch as he lands off that second wake on his way to the Ramp – and he in turn will watch her buoy 1,3 and 5, where she may need help. This partnership is invaluable to both.

After a well earned Christmas break, Freddy is back riding his skis again  preparing for another World Cup season and will be on the Ramp in the coming days. Right now, he and Karen are also working on their downstairs guest room and on a new front porch. There is a very special reason for wanting to get all this work done soon ! Their lives are about to change dramatically in the coming six weeks or so as they are expecting a baby boy to arrive just before the Moomba Masters. Already 2009 is another special year for Freddy and Karen and we all wish them well with the big day ahead.
